In Silicon Valley, Millionaires Who Don’t Feel Rich

money.jpgHere is a new interesting article from the New York Times.

Mr. Steger, 51, a self-described geek, has banked more than $2 million. The $1.3 million house he and his wife own on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean is paid off. The couple’s net worth of roughly $3.5 million places them in the top 2 percent of families in the United States.

And the funniest part:

Most mornings, he can be found at his desk by 7. He typically works 12 hours a day and logs an extra 10 hours over the weekend.

I think it really show the mentality of people here. I wish I was this guy, not for the working time (I’m almost like him… ) but for his net worth :)

Labor Day Weekend – Bay Bridge Closure

logo_bluegif.jpg
Between 8 pm on Friday August 31 and Tuesday September 4 at 5 am, the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge will be closed in both directions. Not since the Loma Prieta Earthquake which shut down the entire structure for one month has the bridge been completely closed.
Labor Day Weekend 2007 is host to the Sausalito Arts Festival, Giants and A’s games, Critical Mass and long weekend travelers and visitors.

Congestion on all Bay Area roads is expected to be significant and Caltrans is launching a massive outreach campaign statewide to notify the traveling public of this closure.

Private island in Bay is up for sale

A man approaching his 78th birthday is asking $10 million for an island located in San Francisco Bay, which he has been trying to sell for more than six years, according to a report by the Associated Press. He bought the property in 1964 for $49,500.
